Living on the North Coast, it is all about the love. Love of the area, love of the produce, love of the sea, love of the music, just love of the love.
Celebrating the love, we have kept things very local for the last few weeks, which has been good, as it is sometimes necessary to slow down and appreciate where you live.
Firstly, on what turned out to be a wet Saturday afternoon, we headed to ‘Love Lennox’. We pull in late as we prefer to let the Doggie Fashion Parade finish, so the streets are less dogified.
The main stage is directly in the park and overlooks the beach. It is great for families, with a play area to keep the children entertained while you chat and listen to music. The market stalls are also handy. There is a reasonable mosh pit, which most people were taking advantage of. The rain did not stop the line-dancers getting out there for the Mumblers.
Heading down the street, we spy Tex Perkins, enthusiastically supporting the ‘School of Rock’ stage. This is where the local ‘grommets’ get a chance to do live gigs and experience the realities of performing to a crowd. People always stop to listen.
The markets and food stalls were doing a roaring trade, with great local produce and craftworks on display. This year the crowds seemed much bigger and there was a definite vibe of joy around the streets
