About

They say fake it ’til you make it and until recently I had felt that I had been faking it. Then something else that I had often said began to resonate in my head. I continually said I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grow up. On reaching a respectable age it dawned on me that this is what I am now that I have grown up. There is no more waiting to become something – I am here, this is what I have become.

I hear you say well what is it?

Taking a look in the mirror – it is a respectable, hard working, married woman who recently decided that there were some things in her life that were dragging her down, others that were building her up and a dream that was being lived but not to it’s full extent. It was time to toss the boss, put it out there and see if there was any point to the pursuing this idea of retiring into a life of festivals, fiestas and carnivals.

Retiring seems to be a bit of a myth as I struggle with technology, sit in absolute awe of the amount of talent there is in the world and dedicate a sizeable amount of my days to making this a reality.

I have been playing with the festivals, fiestas and carnivals along with my soul mate for over 20 years. Our life is blessed with great people, a heavenly local area and a hoard of people who create great parties. These festival creators have given us some of the greatest days of our lives. We have had fantastic experiences, taken great shots and have memories that will never be repeated.

So now I am creating a blog to relive the memories through the images, start faking it as a writer and see where the journey takes me.

  1. Hi – your writing and photography is beautiful…I too have been reflecting very much about life – it comes with the reaching of age I guess. So wonderful to hear your words that resonate with mine and to witness your bravery……inspiring and encouraging. x
